In light of rumours regarding Aaron Ramsdale’s likely departure from Arsenal during the forthcoming summer transfer window, the Gunners are focusing on potentially signing Patrick Schulte, a custodian from the United States.
Since David Raya has replaced Ramsdale in the starting lineup this season, it looks as though Ramsdale’s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain.
Ramsdale has received little playing time despite being the team’s first choice; he has mostly appeared in domestic cup games and one Champions League match.
Raya’s loan period is anticipated to be extended permanently for an estimated £30 million. Thus, Ramsdale will probably look for chances to play regularly elsewhere. As a result, Arsenal will need to look into other goalkeeping options and maybe raise money through player sales.
According to reports from The Telegraph, Arsenal has recognised Schulte. Schulte’s outstanding performances for Columbus Crew have caught the interest of other European clubs, including the Premier League North London club.
In his debut season with the club, Schulte, at 23 years old, was instrumental in Columbus Crew’s 2023 MLS Cup victory.
The pursuit of Schulte underscores the club’s commitment to securing top talent to enhance its men ahead of the new season as Arsenal gets ready for possible changes in their goalkeeping department.
