Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has called for Manchester City to sack Pep Guardiola.
This comes after City’s humiliating 5-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
Guardiola is enduring what could be described as the worst season of his managerial career.
While he is one of the most successful managers in Premier League history, with six league titles and an impressive average of 2.31 points per game from his 328 matches, Silvestre believes his tactics are no longer effective and feels it may be time for the club to part ways with the Catalan coach.
Speaking to Metro, the former French defender stated: “Honestly, I would [consider sacking Guardiola]. If I were running the club or an executive, I would have these thoughts with the owners.”
He added, “How many times have they tried to adjust the team and ensure they’re winning games and dominating like they used to? It’s not working.”
Despite the defeat to Arsenal, Guardiola is unlikely to be dismissed by Manchester City.
