Son Heung-Min’s late miss during Manchester City’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, according to Arsenal veteran Ian Wright, was decisive in the Premier League title chase.
Son got a one-on-one opportunity with Stefan Ortega to make it 1-1 after a defensive blunder.
But the captain of the Spurs sent a clean shot at Ortega, and Haaland scored a penalty to make it 2-0.
Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Everton on Sunday would have given them the title for the first time in twenty years if Tottenham had defeated City.
While appearing on BBC Match of the Day, Wright stated, “Honestly, you couldn’t have asked for a better person. When he’s going through I’m thinking, ‘Oh my god this is it’.
“And then the more you watch it you can see how far his standing foot was from the ball, he kind of rushed the finish, he didn’t get a good connection.
“How Pep [Guardiola] was is how I was in my front room! I was thinking, ‘That was it right there, that was the title right there’.”
