Alex Iwobi has joined the distinguished ranks of Nigerian players in the Premier League after providing an assist during Fulham’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The adaptable midfielder delivered a key pass to substitute Emile Smith Rowe, who scored the equalizer for the home side.
Iwobi’s Premier League tally now stands at 67 goal contributions, comprising 31 goals and 36 assists.
At 29 years old, he becomes the third Nigerian to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Shola Ameobi and Kelechi Iheanacho.
Only former Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni, with 121 goal contributions, and Nwankwo Kanu, with 83, have recorded better numbers among Nigerian players.
In addition to his assist, Iwobi showcased a strong performance throughout the match against Manchester United.
The Arsenal Academy graduate played the full 90 minutes of the exciting game.
