EPL: Rooney names best signing of the season

Wayne Rooney, a legend of Manchester United, has selected the Premier League’s finest acquisition of the year.

During the summer transfer window, a number of players, notably Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka, and Alexander Isak, joined various Premier League teams.

However, Rooney claims that Xhaka’s summer transfer to Sunderland was the best acquisition of the English Premier League season.

“Granit Xhaka has been fantastic,” Rooney said on his BBC podcast.

“He has never been the quickest but he is got that experience to just manage the game.

“He is shown what a good player he is. He is probably been the signing of the season, he’s been that brilliant.”
