EPL: Ten Hag names ‘very important’ player in Man Utd squad after win over Newcastle

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, described Sofyan Amrabat as a “very important” team member following the Red Devils’ 3-2 victory over Newcastle on Wednesday night in the Premier League.

According to Ten Hag, the Morocco international is essential for pressing and counter-pressing. He also noted that the player performed admirably at Old Trafford against Newcastle.

Rasmus Hojlund, Amad Diallo, and Kobbie Mainoo scored goals to give Man United the win over the guests.

“I think he played a very good game. Very important for us in the pressing and the counter-press,” Ten Hag said in his post-match interview.

“He is doing a really good job keeping the team together and compact. We had good moments to press and control the game.”

Since coming to Man United on loan from Fiorentina last summer, Amrabatas has had a lot of difficulty.
