Ben Chilwell, a defender for Chelsea, is apparently a target for West Ham United under new manager Graham Potter.

Enzo Maresca, the current manager of Chelsea, has decided that Chilwell is surplus to requirements.

West Ham is prepared to give the 28-year-old a career lifeline, according to Football Insider.

This January transfer window, the Hammers hope to strengthen Potter’s team, and they think Chilwell would be a valuable addition.

Four players, including Chilwel, were left out of Maresca’s match day roster for the Premier League’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth a few days ago.

The England international ranks lower in Maresca’s squad’s hierarchy of defenders.

Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga are among Maresca’s preferred left-backs over Chilwell.

A January transfer move away from the west London club was recently linked to Chilwell.
