EPL: ‘Why not’ – Nani makes shock title prediction

Former Manchester United star Nani has predicted that his former club has the potential to claim the Premier League title this season.

Nani said there is no reason why Manchester United cannot compete for the championship under the management of Ruben Amorim.

Amorim’s team had a difficult start to the season, languishing at the bottom of the table, but the Portuguese coach seems to have turned things around at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the league ahead of this weekend’s matches, following victories over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton, marking Amorim’s first streak of three consecutive wins since taking charge in November.

This recent surge has brought United just one point shy of the top four and one point ahead of defending champions and rivals, Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are seen as the strong favorites to win their first league title in 22 years.

Nani, now 38, suggested that Manchester United could emerge as unexpected challengers this season.

“Why not?” Nani told Covers.com. “They [Man United] are building a strong team and are trying to get back into real competition with the teams that are always at the top of the table: Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Man City. So, they are there now. They have the possibility.

“If they win the next few games, everything can change. So, we never know. Let’s keep on winning games and then we’ll see.

“If it’s not this year, maybe they will get the confidence for next season. So, let’s see.

“Not being in Europe helps on one side…

“I’ve been watching the team and I’m really happy,” Nani added.”
