Europa League: Lookman seeks end to 18-game goal drought

When Atalanta takes on Sporting Lisbon of Portugal in the Europa League Round of 16 first-leg tie on Wednesday, Ademola Lookman will try to end his 18-game goal drought in Europe.

Since his brace in Everton’s 3-0 victory over Apollon Limassol, a Cypriot club, in December 2017, the Nigerian has yet to score in Europe.

Lookman played for Leicester City and RB Leipzig in Europe but never scored a goal there.

Additionally, the winger still needs to score a goal for Atalanta in a European competition.

In La Dea’s 2-1 defeat to Bologna at home last Saturday, the 26-year-old scored.

It was his tenth goal of the season overall and his eighth in the league.
