A two-point deduction has been imposed on Everton, a Premier League team, for a second infraction of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Everton and Nottingham Forest were both charged again in January for violating PSR regulations during a timeframe that ended with the 2022–2023 season.
Forest again appealed the decision after receiving a four-point deduction.
Before the points deduction was revealed, the team was four points above the bottom three in the Premier League standings, sitting in 15th place.
They now sit two points and two places above Luton in 18th place, two points and two places below Brentford in 16th place with 27 points.
Everton was additionally deducted 10 points in November for accruing £19.5 million more in losses than allowed during the season that ended in 2021–2022. Still, this penalty was lowered to six points after a successful appeal.
