President Bola Tinubu has defended his recent international travels, emphasizing that each engagement abroad is aimed at promoting Nigeria’s development and prosperity.
He explained that his visits to Brazil and Japan were focused on creating economic opportunities that would lead to job creation and national growth.
The president made this known in a post on X shortly after returning from a 10-day official tour that included bilateral meetings in Brazil, Japan, and a brief stop in Los Angeles, United States.
He noted that the motivation behind these trips was the pursuit of greater economic prospects for Nigerians.
“Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians,” he said.
While in Japan, Tinubu highlighted strengthened relations intended to attract investments in key sectors such as technology, industry, and human capital development.
In Brazil, he said the partnerships established would support Nigeria’s trade, agriculture, aviation, and financial sectors, while also boosting investor confidence in the country’s economy.
“In Japan, we deepened ties that will bring new investments in industry, technology, and human capital. In Brazil, we advanced partnerships in trade, agriculture, aviation, and finance.
“This is the new Nigeria we are building together, a Nigeria built on sustainable reforms that will outlast us rather than one built on rhetoric,” he added.
