Ex Abacha aide, Hamza Al-Mustapha officially defects to SDP

Major Dr. Hamza Al-Mustapha has formally entered a new stage of his political career focused on national development by joining the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Al-Mustapha arrived to the SDP headquarters in Abuja with his team, where party leaders and supporters welcomed him with open arms.

He claimed that joining the party is a symbol of his dedication to leadership founded on advancement, security, and justice.

Days after Nasir El-Rufa’i, the former governor of Kaduna, defected to the SDP, he did the same.

According to El-Rufa’i, they would take action against the Bola Ahmed Tinubu government in the 2027 elections.

General Sani Abacha, the former military ruler, had Hamza Al-Mustapha as his chief security officer from 1993 until 1998.

During the military rule, he was regarded as one of Abacha’s closest friends and colleagues.
