Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has described the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari as a profound national tragedy.
In his response to the news, Governor Nwifuru said Buhari was a towering leader whose life was characterized by unwavering dedication, strong discipline, and a firm belief in Nigeria’s unity and advancement.
“From his first appearance on the national stage as Military Head of State in 1984 to his return as democratically elected President in 2015, President Buhari consistently embodied integrity, courage, and simplicity—values that endeared him to millions of Nigerians.
“For us in Ebonyi State, President Buhari was more than a national leader. He was a partner in development and a friend to our people,” he said.
This tribute was conveyed through a statement released Sunday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, and shared with journalists in Abakaliki.
Governor Nwifuru also extended his sympathies to the Federal Government and the people of Katsina State, describing the former President’s passing as an immense loss. He offered prayers for the peaceful rest of Buhari’s soul.
