Father arrested for r3pe and m8rder of his 4-year-old daughter in South Africa

In South Africa, a father named Ethan Watson has been taken into custody for the rape and murder of his 4-year-old daughter, Nikita.

On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the couple came before the Protea Magistrates’ Court in Soweto, Johannesburg.

The mother of the deceased was charged on a separate docket with failing to promptly report a sexual offense against a minor child, while the father was charged with murder, rape, coerced rape, child abuse, and assault.

Phindi Mjonondwane, the regional spokesperson for the Gauteng Division of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Johannesburg, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday.

On August 6, police in the Eldorado Park neighborhood responded to a report from a parent who was physically abusing his child.

When they arrived on the scene, they were directed to a shuttered shack in the backyard. Police discovered a male with a young boy and a young girl inside.

They saw that the girl resting in the bed had bruises, swollen eyes, and damage to her skull.

The man who claimed to be the children’s father was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the girl’s fate.

After the police detained the father, they took the girl to a neighboring medical facility for treatment, where she passed away on August 8 from her wounds.
