I never imagined that my family would turn on me in this way.

We all agreed that the man my older sister married two years ago was respectable, godly, and decent. He was constantly grinning in public, referring to me as “sister-in-law” with such affection, and even bringing tiny presents whenever he came to visit my parents.

In private, however, he was someone else entirely.

It all began when I spent two weeks staying at their house while my sister was away on business. Everything was normal at first. In the evenings, we would watch TV together and he would eat the meals I prepared. However, he visited my room one evening, sat on my bed, and began uttering things that chilled me to the bone.

He described me as “attractive” and “mature” compared to my sister. He then made an attempt to touch me. I instantly leaped to my feet and warned him not to approach me ever again. “This is something you’ll regret,” he added, laughing.

Until my sister came back, I believed it to be a meaningless threat.

She began to treat me coldly within days. She then informed me that her husband had “confessed” to me that I had attempted to woo him. He even claimed that I was a witch who intended to ruin my parents’ union. Before I realized it, my family’s opinion of me had been damaged.

I wept for weeks. No one took me seriously. I was interrupted by my own sister. I cannot express the anguish of losing family due to one man’s deception.

I’ve severed all connections with them and relocated out of town. But occasionally, I question whether I should reveal the whole truth to the public, even if it ends up ruining their marriage.
