The Ibironke Adeagbo Foundation (IAF), a non-governmental organisation, has raised approximately N30 million to support its campaign against out-of-school children. According to the foundation’s founder, Mrs Ibironke Adeagbo, the funds were raised during its annual charity gala in London.

The funds will be used to support the foundation’s key initiatives, including sponsoring children, providing bursary scholarships, and distributing school materials and uniforms to children nationwide. Mrs Adeagbo explained that the goal is to remove financial barriers to education, particularly for marginalised groups such as girls, children with disabilities, and those from low-income families.

“By addressing both access and equity, IAF has continued to work towards its vision of ensuring that every child has the opportunity to receive quality education,” she said. Mrs Adeagbo expressed gratitude to the foundation’s patron, Femi Falana (SAN), for his advocacy efforts, which have contributed to reducing the number of out-of-school children

The foundation remains committed to tackling the issue through scholarships, school supplies, and essential support services. Mr Diran Femi-Famakinwa, Chairman of the foundation, emphasised the importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty. “When children are not educated, they are more likely to remain in poverty and perpetuate cycles of poverty,” he noted.
