Just two days after beginning work, a new fuel station attendant allegedly stole ₦2.5 million, shocking Port Harcourt with a blatant robbery. The sad incident left the station owner and many others in shock. A Nigerian woman published the disturbing story on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The teenage attendant was tasked with managing the money from fuel sales at a Port Harcourt petrol station where she had recently been employed, according to the post. But soon after he returned to work, he allegedly stole the large amount, placing his company in a difficult financial situation.

In an attempt to retrieve the stollen money, the employer contacted the attendant’s parents in the hopes that they would assist in finding their son.

The parents, surprisingly, did not help; instead, they allegedly told their son to leave the house and took away his phone so that no one could follow him.

The lady who shared the story wrote, “A friend who runs a fuel station hired a pump attendant in PH. On the second day of resumption, he stole ₦2.5 million. His parents were informed to assist in recovery or apprehending him, but instead, they asked him to leave the house and seized his phone to avoid being tracked. Are the parents liable?”

Online discussions over the attendant’s conduct and the parents’ reaction were sparked by the post, which swiftly acquired popularity. The parents’ seeming approval of their son’s behaviour shocked many commenters, who questioned the morality and legality of their choice.
