In light of the present fuel shortage, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has asked for forgiveness from its fellow citizens.

In a statement released on Monday, NNPCL spokeswoman Olufemi Soneye revealed that the company’s 2023 Audit Financial Statement showed a N3.3 trillion profit at the end of 2023.

Speaking about the fuel lines in Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Lagos, and other places, Executive Vice President, Downstream, Dapo Segun stated that the company is collaborating with pertinent parties to resolve issues related to distribution and evacuation planning that are contributing to the continuous fuel shortage.

In the meantime, NNPCL added that the increase in its 2023 audit financial statement amounts to over N700 billion, or 28 percent, in comparison to the N2.548 trillion profit in 2022.

NNPCL declared N3.3 trillion profit in 2023.
