Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling station increases fuel pump price

After the gantry price was raised to N1,175 per liter last week Friday, the petrol pump price at MRS filling station, supported by Dangote Refinery, has been increased nationwide.

ZINGTIE reports that the price of petrol at MRS filling stations in Abuja has been raised to N1,267 per liter from its previous value of N1,167.

This indicates that the fuel retail outlet raised its pump price by N100 per liter, matching the increase in the gantry petrol price at Dangote Refinery.

A manager at MRS filling station, who wished to remain unnamed, verified the recent pump price to ZINGTIE, mentioning it was a result of an increase in the gantry price by Dangote Refinery.

ZINGTIE previously reported that, following a gantry price increase announcement from Dangote Refinery, Optima Filling Station had raised its fuel price by N50 to N1,270 from N1,220.

Meanwhile, petrol at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited retail outlets is priced at N1,261, which is cheaper by N6 and N9 compared to MRS and Optima Filling stations, respectively.

Other petrol stations like AA Rano, NIPCO, Eterna, Mobil, Empire Energy, and Raniol offer PMS at prices ranging from N1,270 to N1,330 per liter in Abuja and its surroundings.

This is a result of the ongoing volatility in crude oil prices, which has been exacerbated by the escalation of the Iran-United States-Israel war since February 28th, 2026.

On Tuesday morning, ZINGTIE verified that the prices per barrel for Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude blends were $97.39 and $103.7, respectively.
