A worried internet user questioned Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele’s choice to wear a ring on her “marriage finger” even though she was divorced. Akindele has replied to the criticism.

The internet user, who went by @OriretanHonour on X, contended that the actress should not keep wearing the ring since it would turn off prospective suitors.

He wrote: “Funke, it’s unwise to still wear a ring on your marriage finger knowing you’re divorced. Even worse, it might chase away your future husband. Little things count now that you’re still famous, hot, and rich. Mind your public acts. Remove the ring now. You need a man in your life ASAP. Act fast. Be wise.”

Akindele responded by brushing off the worry, stating that her top goal is having enough money.

“I need money! That’s the koko,” she wrote.

Funke Akindele has two divorces from marriage.

On May 26, 2012, she wed her first husband, Mr. Oloyede; nevertheless, they separated in July 2013 because of their intractable differences. After they had twins together, her second marriage to JJC Skillz terminated in 2022.

Akindele discussed her marriage past in an interview with Wazobia FM last year, claiming that having two divorces does not make her a failure.
