The new executive committee of the APC France Chapter has been inaugurated in Paris by Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Additionally, he urged everyone in the diaspora to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reforms.
Prominent APC members from the Diaspora came together for the event, which was held over the weekend in Paris.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ganduje emphasized the value of diasporic party members standing together and their responsibility to assist the administration’s efforts to restructure the economy.
Edwin Olofu, his chief press secretary, praised the diaspora’s efforts to increase the party’s overseas base through active member recruitment and mobilization in a statement released Monday.
He stated that “they are necessary steps to reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth,” even though the reforms implemented under President Tinubu may be viewed as harsh.
He also reassured the audience that the party is dedicated to collaborating with the National Assembly to achieve the long-awaited objective of diaspora voting, which would allow Nigerians residing overseas to fully participate in politics.
Ganduje noted: “We appreciate you for holding the banner of our party, expanding its membership, and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially in light of the critical reforms he is undertaking.
“There is now more funding for capital development, and both governors and local government chairmen can attest to this.”
With rising internal stability and the departure of important leaders from rival political parties, Ganduje voiced optimism about the APC’s chances going into the 2027 elections.
“There is peace in the APC, unlike in other parties that are battling internal crises. Because of this enabling environment, many are decamping to our party, including Senators, members of the House of Representatives, State Assemblies members, and other notable political figures. Our party respects its constitution and practices internal democracy.”
In her response, Hajjiya Amina Suzuki, the recently appointed Chairlady of the APC, France Chapter, reaffirmed the crucial role that Nigerians in the diaspora play in the growth of their country, both as political and economic stakeholders.
“The Nigerian diaspora contributes billions in remittances and investments, but we are also thought leaders and proud ambassadors of Nigeria’s democracy,” she said.
