Former Guinness World Record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to cook 250 bags of rice in an attempt to set a new world record for the largest jollof rice pot.
In a viral video posted to her Instagram account on Monday, Hilda shared details of the massive culinary project.
She revealed that the rice would be prepared in a giant pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres.
Discussing the logistics, she said, “I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is 6 meters wide by 6 meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink.”
The ambitious event is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025, and is expected to serve meals to 10,000 people.
This comes two years after Hilda made headlines for cooking non-stop for 93 hours and 11 minutes, a feat that earned her global recognition.
