Nigerian comedian, Sanku Comedy dies in fatal car accident

Popular Nigerian content creator and comedian, Raji Samad Adetola, widely known as Mr Sanku Comedy, has passed away.

The skit maker was involved in a fatal car accident along the Oyo-Ogbomoso route in Ibadan during the early hours of Monday.

News of the crash quickly circulated on social media, with graphic images and videos revealing that the car had veered off the road and plunged into a ditch.

Sanku was traveling with a friend at the time of the incident. Both were rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to their injuries a few hours later.

He gained popularity for his creative approach to comedy and storytelling and began producing content in 2021.

Reacting to the tragic news, Nollywood actress Funmi Awelewa shared via Instagram that she had asked one of her students living near Bowen Hospital to check on him. According to her, “he told her he was responding to treatment.”

Despite her hopes and prayers for recovery, she confirmed that Sanku eventually did not survive.
