Hardship: Avoid public protest – Fulani group warns

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has urged its nationwide members to promote peace and unity within the country rather than indulging in violence.

In a statement made accessible to reporters in Damaturu on Monday, Khalil Muhammad Bello, National President of KACRAN, made the plea.

He says, “KACRAN, as an organization, is committed to harmony and progress. It strongly condemns any acts of vandalism and lawlessness. Such behaviour poses a threat to the nation’s fragile security and contradicts our values as a civilized society.”

He acknowledged that Nigeria is going through difficult times, especially with insecurity hitting many areas. He declared, “It is during such critical times that the solidarity of all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic or religious backgrounds, is paramount. We must unite to prevent any actions that could further destabilize our nation.”

To allow the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to effectively carry out its purpose, the Association, through the National President, urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to increase funds for the NEDC.

“We also acknowledge the exceptional leadership of His Excellency, Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum. Governor Zulum’s initiative of establishing a committee to foster peace between cattle rearers and farmers in the state is laudable.

“The committee’s mandate to address the root causes of conflicts and to promote longstanding harmony in Borno State is a testament to his exemplary governance,” he said.

Therefore, KACRAN urged other state governors to adopt Governor Zulum’s proactive style, noting that his revolutionary initiatives in Borno State provide a worldwide and Nigerian leadership model.

“KACRAN reaffirms its unwavering commitment to assisting the federal, state, and local governments in seeking lasting solutions to Nigeria’s security challenges.

“We call upon our members to extend their full support and cooperation to achieve our collective goals of peace, unity, and development,” he appealed.
