The majority of women compiled a list of qualities and attributes they were seeking in a potential partner. Several instances include being nice, attractive, giving, and thoughtful. When it comes to the men she dates and finally marries, Graça Machel has high standards. Graça’s gaze may have been drawn to leaders in addition to the medical professionals, lawyers, and businesspeople who enthralled other ladies.
Samora Machel was married to Graca Machel (1933–1986), who ruled Mozambique from 1975 to 1984. President Machel passed away in a plane accident on October 19, 1986. On July 18, 1998, she wed South African President Nelson Mandela, becoming the first woman in history to hold the title of “First Lady” of both countries.
At fifty-two, she was much younger when she married Nelson Mandela in 1998. She does, however, assert that their connection was strengthened by their older age. She countered that they had become adults, had children of their own, and realised the importance of having a companion or friend who made life easier.
She distinguished between the person and the symbol: Machel claimed that initially, there was conflict between the guy she married and the public’s perception of him. He claimed that there was some misunderstanding about his aura.
