He’s being deceived, we’re not involved – APC on Atiku’s coalition

Bala Ibrahim, the director of publicity for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has responded to assertions made by former vice president Atiku Abubakar that certain members of the APC, PDP, and Labour Party are part of his coalition.

Ibrahim claimed that Atiku is being misled into believing that any member of the APC would join his coalition.

Atiku had revealed the information in Abuja while meeting with a group of interested parties from the Kogi East Senatorial Zone, which was headed by Simon Achuba, a former deputy governor of Kogi State.

The former PDP presidential candidate recently declared that a coalition would be formed in order to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

When the organization was announced at a press conference, former LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ex-presidential running mate, Tanko Yunusa, and ex-Governor of Kaduna, Nasir El-Rufai were present.

Ibrahim, however, maintained that the coalition to depose Tinubu in 2027 does not include APC members.

Speaking to reporters in Abuja, he stated that Atiku’s political antics are not diverting the party’s attention.

He said: “Atiku is being deceived. The APC is not involved in any such coalition. As a party, we are focused, growing stronger daily, and not bothered by his political theatrics.

“If any APC member is speaking with him, they’re probably stringing him along, as has happened repeatedly in the past.

“Each time he engages in coalitions, he ends up losing. That’s the pattern.”
