How 17-year-old boy dies in Kano after fight with friend over tap water

Musa Muhammad, 17, passed away in Kano State following an altercation with a childhood friend over tap water.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, posted about the incident on X on Sunday.

Makama said that the incident took place at Kano’s Rijiyar Lemo Quarters on Saturday.

Muhammad Haruna, the victim’s father, reportedly reported the incident to Bachirawa Police Station, according to the police.

Around 11 a.m., he added, his 16-year-old friend Muhammad Aliyu met him after his son had gone to collect water.

“An argument broke out between them and turned into a fight. During the scuffle, Aliyu reportedly hit Musa in the face, causing him to collapse on the spot.

“Musa was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital but was later confirmed dead,” Makama wrote.

In accordance with Islamic tradition, his remains has been returned to the family for burial.

The suspect was taken into custody by the police, who also stated that an investigation is still ongoing.
