The Delta State Police Command has detained Tracy Wilson, a 28-year-old woman, for allegedly sexually abusing her three-year-old daughter in what they have called “one of the most disturbing cases of child abuse in recent times.”
The child’s father set off an alarm and reported the crime to the police station, which led to its discovery. The police claim that after he turned them video evidence purporting to show the abuse, they picked Tracy up right away.
The arrest was verified by Delta Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, who stated that the child’s medical checks and investigations showed evidence of abuse.
“The allegations are credible and extremely troubling.” he said.
Tracy acknowledged during questioning that she had engaged in improper sexual behavior with her daughter and that the abuse had started when the child was just eight months old. She also admitted to injuring her vulva, infecting the youngster with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and capturing obscene pictures and films of the actions. “I feel bad for my actions,” she stated.
Police emphasize that the case will be charged in court and that further forensic analysis is proceeding.
Police have advised Nigerians to exercise caution, pointing out that the father’s early notification is frequently the only way to save abused children from perilous circumstances.
