How Fubara disrespected Tinubu and witch-hunting Wike – Ex-Senator

Senator Olaka Nwogu, a former federal lawmaker who served as the National Assembly’s senator for the Rivers Southeast Senatorial District, has criticised Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his administration’s decision to look into previous administrations.

ZINGTIE reminds readers that Fubara declared on Monday that his administration will look into previous administrations, especially those in power right before it. It was headed by Nyesom Wike, the current MinisterMinister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The governor said this amid the state’s protracted political crisis brought on by his and the Minister’sMinister’s argument.

In response, Nwogu, who gave a speech on Monday in Port Harcourt, asked the governor to put an end to the Minister’sMinister’s witch hunt.

The former lawmaker lamented that the current governor has chosen to intensify the situation by preparing to investigate Wike, even after President Bola Tinubu intervened in the dispute between Fubara and Wike.

Nwogu says that Fubara’s decision to investigate Wike’s government shows his disdain for the president and emphasises how the governor’s current actions have undermined all attempts at reconciliation and shown the president disrespect. 

“This is a direct spite of the President. If he chooses to abandon the eight-point agenda and to pursue this course, it means he has no respect for the President’s intervention.

“This is an unnecessary escalation. It tenses the place up. As a governor, do your job. You will be judged by the infrastructures you provide, but if you think that fighting people will add to your scorecard, let us see how.

“If you want to probe the past administration, on which records? The person setting up the panel is also the record keeper.

“What will be put before they are selective, are they doctored? This is just the most absurd of all the absurdities”, he said.
