Ayanfe Adeyinka, a Yoruba Nollywood actress, has talked candidly about her difficult private and professional life, including a particularly upsetting incident in which a pastor broke his vow to marry her after she became pregnant.

In an interview with Wasilacoded TV’s Iriri Mi podcast, Adeyinka talked about what happened to her after her first marriage failed.

She revealed how she battled to raise her child alone, often working on various movie sets to make ends meet. As she rebuilt her life, she met a number of guys, including a well-known married movie marketer and a wealthy man, who helped her in different ways.

Despite the emotional and moral complexity of their relationships, both men were important to her early filmmaking.

Adeyinka claimed she suffered from a protracted period of emotional and romantic instability following her split from the marketer, who denied paternity of a pregnancy that tragically ended in termination.

Her mother took her to a pastor for spiritual intervention because her condition had gotten so bad. Adeyinka claims that the pastor said that she will wed a godly man in the end.

On a movie set, a pastor approached her and declared his intention to marry her, seemingly fulfilling the prophecy.

She was skeptical at first, but remembering the previous prophecy, she finally gave him a chance. However, her romantic life quickly took a turn for the worse.

Adeyinka disclosed that before to their official marriage, the pastor had gotten her pregnant. His attitude changed drastically after the pregnancy became apparent.

The man she had felt was divinely ordained began to display hints of dishonesty and insincerity. In the end, he broke his vow to marry her and began mistreating her.

She said: “After my relationship with the marketer ended abruptly, it took me a long time to find another man. Things got so bad that my mother started panicking. She even took me to a pastor for prayers.“

“That pastor told me I wouldn’t just marry any man—that the person I would marry would be a man of God. And the prophecy came to pass in less than two months. I was on a movie set when a pastor approached me, said he liked me, and wanted to marry me.“

“At first, I rejected him, but when I remembered the prophecy, I decided to give him a chance. However, he got me pregnant before we got married. After my pregnancy began to show, he started revealing his true colors. He abused me and beat me.”
