Paul Adefarasin, the senior pastor of House on the Rock Church, said he does not think God created Nigeria.

In his lecture on Sunday, Adefarasin emphasized that Nigeria’s creation was a result of British colonial interests seeking to further their financial goals rather than an act of divine will.

He disputed the widely held notion that God created Nigeria, emphasizing that the nation’s foundation was influenced by colonial power conflicts.

“Nigeria, I do not believe it was created by God. I don’t believe it. I believe that Queen Elizabeth got into a deal with the Ottoman Empire and they had a deal concerning Sudan – those who care to buy the book, buy the book. It’s called The Martyrdom of Man.

“As far as Africa was concerned, two empires got together and decided that this land would go to the sons of Ishmael. It is self-evident, but let’s not go there. This is not a political forum. This is a church and the church has responsibilities to get right what man got wrong. She’s the light of the world and the salt of the earth. That’s important,” Adefarasin said.

He claims that Nigeria’s constitution is invalid, having been written by the military instead of the people’s collective will.

The cleric likened the status of the nation to a structure built on shaky foundations, citing Psalm 11:3.

The man of God went on to attack the nation’s corruption and leadership, citing subpar road construction as an example of Nigeria’s dysfunctional systems.
