I never intended to marry a musician – Simi

Singer Simi from Nigeria said she never planned to wed a musician.

The singer made this claim during an appearance for the “Tea With Tay” podcast, where she also described how she met her spouse, Adekunle Gold.

Simi claimed to have met Adekunle while working as a graphic designer and mistakenly believed him to be a fan waiting to message her on Facebook.

“I didn’t know my husband was singing when I met him because I already said I cannot marry a singer. I thought he was even a fan. He used to do this ‘King of Photoshop’ at that time.

“He sent me a message on Facebook, but I never saw it, nor did I reply. I sensed that he would be good for me.”

Simi and Adekunle Gold tied the knot in 2019.
