Victor Udochukwu Nwaogu, a Nigerian actor better known as Nkubi, has disclosed that one of the factors that led him to pursue acting was the fact that people were declining to hire him because of his physique.

During a recent episode of the One On One podcast with his wife, the movie star revealed this while discussing the stigma associated with being a little person.

He clarified that he was unaware of his reality until he began facing rejections in job interviews after finishing secondary school.

“As a child you barely understand your reality but you knew you were different from every regular person.

“When the reality of being a little person first hit me was when I finished secondary school and I couldn’t secure minor jobs like others,” he stated.

Nkubi expressed regret that his daughter is already experiencing the same stigmatisation from internet trolls, who make derogatory remarks about her due to her size.

However, he noted that he and his wife were aware of the possibility of having a child with dwarfism and were emotionally prepared for it.

His wife noted that although they had prepared for the possibility of their child facing stigma, it still stings at times to witness trolls incessantly tormenting her without cause.

She revealed that a doctor had recommended she conceive with another man to prevent having a child with dwarfism, but she declined this suggestion.
