“I will K!ll you, and go to jail” — Lady raises alarm over chilling death threats from ex-boyfriend

After sharing a chilling audio recording of her ex-boyfriend purportedly threatening to kill her and voluntarily serving time in prison for it, a Nigerian lady has caused a stir on social media.

The anonymous woman shared a picture of the suspect and a terrifying audio recording of the man continuously threatening to kill her on X (previously Twitter), where she made her need for assistance.

The man may be heard in Pidgin on the recording saying: “Because of you, I wan go jail. I go kill you. I swear to God who made me. If you doubt am, check am and see.”

He further warned, “I go kill you, your family go lose you. If I go jail, I know how many years I go serve am. I go destroy you for yourself, then I go destroy you for your family. You go see the real me.”

Numerous commentators demanded a quick inquiry and the victim’s safety, tagging the Nigeria Police Force, the National Human Rights Commission, and other pertinent organizations.

No official police reaction has been released to the public as of this writing. Activists are advising the woman to seek legal protection through a restraining order and to formally report the threats.

The case has rekindled discussions about toxic relationships, gender-based violence, and the pressing need for more robust protections for Nigerian women who are threatened and abused.
