I’ll never again do it again – Toyin Abraham amid backlash over Tinubu

Toyin Abraham, who received negative feedback on social media for endorsing Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections, has promised never to disclose her political views again.

ZINGTIE recalls that the actress was very outspoken in her endorsement of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, or APC.

Abraham sent Tinubu an open letter when he was sworn in as Nigeria’s president, expressing her continued support for him.

Additionally, Tinubu’s son Seyi promised Abraham last week that he would be just as devoted to her as she is to his father.

On Tuesday, though, the actress was subjected to more abuse as an X user asked if she would ever reveal the president’s plans to the whole public.

“Maybe one day Toyin Abraham will divulge the plans Bola Tinubu shared with her to the public,” the user asked.

“I strongly believe we deserve to hear. Thank u @toyin_abraham1.”

Responding, Abraham said, “Of course, I was told and promised good governance and happiness for everyone and I believed.

“If things didn’t go well why do I have to be the one to suffer for it? Because I remember I voted for Jonathan and I was bullied but I didn’t blame anyone after everyone chose Buhari. So please why would they be cursing and trolling me every time?

When the user subsequently inquired as to whether she believed her candidate had failed thus far in governance, Abraham avoided the question and replied that she had learned her lesson never to be transparent about her political affiliation.

“I have faced my life and career cos I am not a politician and I’m not in government, I have learnt my lesson never ever to be open with my choice again,” the actress wrote.
