INEC warns Nigerians against falling victim to fake recruitment advert

Social media rumors that the Independent National Electoral Commission, NEC, is hiring for a number of roles have been refuted.

INEC warned Nigerians to ignore the advertisement, which sends candidates to the bogus website inecrecruitment.com to finish their applications, in a statement released on Wednesday.

Additionally, the authority stated that it does not run such a portal and characterized the advertisement as the product of criminal groups trying to deceive the public.

“The impostor behind this illicit recruitment exercise also asked would-be respondents to log on to an equally fake portal – www.inecrecruitment.com to complete their applications. But INEC does not have any such portal,” INEC noted in the statement.

“The Commission is not recruiting. We urge the public not to fall victim to the antics of these impostors,” INEC stated.
