In comparison to the amount of new members joining the party every day, the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC, has boasted that its defection rate is extremely low.

Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the party’s national chairman, made this claim on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s “Sunrise Daily” programme.

He emphasized that the APC is still their home and stated that they are interacting with people who have left the party in an equitable manner with the goal of bringing them back.

“We have minimal defection. Very minimal compared to people who are trooping in everyday.

“If you look at the members of the National Assembly, State Assemblies and governors who are trooping back in the APC from other political parties, it tells you that APC is still the most preferred political party and we are still even receiving more people.

“This shows the kind of popularity and acceptance the APC has. I cannot say that one or two persons from APC may want to move to the other side,” he said.
