A cosmetic clinic in Bangkok, Thailand, has disclosed that Nigerian influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo insisted on having a penis enlargement procedure completed in one session, despite being advised to undergo the treatment in two stages.
The disclosure comes as Thai authorities investigate the clinic following Ubiribo’s death less than 24 hours after he received hyaluronic acid penis filler injections.
Ubiribo, a Nigerian content creator based in London, reportedly died on March 6 after developing complications associated with the cosmetic treatment.
An inquest heard that a post-mortem examination and toxicology findings linked his death to the hyaluronic acid injection and a pulmonary embolism.
Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health announced on September 7 that it had commenced an investigation into the clinic’s operations and adherence to medical standards.
Speaking on the matter, Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support, Phuwadet Surakot, said investigators were informed by clinic officials that Ubiribo had been advised by a doctor to have the treatment carried out in two separate sessions.
“The doctor advised him to split the procedure into two sessions, but he requested that the injection be conducted in a single session.”
The clinic also disclosed that Ubiribo had been receiving treatment there since 2024 and had undergone five previous penile enlargement procedures without experiencing reported complications.
Records presented during the inquest showed that Ubiribo began experiencing chest pains several hours after the procedure on March 5 before eventually collapsing.
He was taken to a hospital where doctors planned to conduct a CT scan, but he reportedly lost consciousness before the examination could take place.
Medical workers subsequently carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for 101 minutes before he was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 6.
