The APC governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State election, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has revealed plans he had made to appoint late veteran actor Ogogo as special adviser on culture and tourism.
Yayi, who currently represents Ogun West in the Senate, disclosed this on Tuesday during a visit to Ogogo’s family at their country home in Ilaro.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, he said, “I planned to make Ogogo my Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism. Not just as SA but as a full cabinet member if I won the election and become the governor of Ogun State.
“That was my plan. I kept it to myself and I was working with it. Believing that God will do it.”
Ogogo passed away at the age of 66 on August 23, 2026, following his battle with cancer.
While the actor was undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer, Yayi was among his major financial supporters and reportedly covered his medical expenses.
