The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to the statistical analysis, over 1.5 million of the 1,955,069 applicants scored below 200. Only 420,415 candidates scored above 200, while less than 1% scored above 300.
JAMB also revealed that 2,157 candidates are under investigation for alleged examination malpractices. Additionally, 40,247 underage candidates were permitted to demonstrate exceptional abilities, but only 467 (1.16%) met the threshold. As stated in the report, “As part of the results, 40,247 underage candidates were permitted to demonstrate their exceptional abilities. However, only 467 of these candidates (1.16%) achieved scores that meet the threshold for exceptional ability as defined for the UTME, with their performance in the subsequent three stages still pending.
Furthermore, 71,701 candidates were absent, and some candidates with biometric challenges are under investigation. Those cleared will be rescheduled for examination at designated centres. JAMB noted that some results, including those of blind candidates and JEOG candidates, are still being processed.
