Ovation Magazine founder and well-known member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has addressed criticism of a meeting between former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State.
On Friday, September 12, 2025, Momodu’s comments were included in a widely shared video that was uploaded on CHANNELS TV’s official X account. After Peter Obi was criticized for publicizing the meeting on his official X account, the footage was shared.
In his post, Peter Obi stated: “I held a productive private meeting with my respected elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan, where we discussed the current state of our nation.”
Momodu defended Obi in the widely shared video, denying the criticism and highlighting the regularity of political meetings. He said that politicians from various parties, including those who have met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, often engage in such discussions.
In the video, Momodu said: “People are questioning Peter Obi’s meeting with former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. It’s perfectly normal for politicians to hold meetings. They do it all the time.”
