On Monday, Nigerian police invaded the PDP’s national headquarters as Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s embattled national secretary, and Ude Okoye, the man the Court of Appeal ruled to be the party’s legitimate national secretary, prepare to return to work today.

According to report, Okoye and Anyanwu are both struggling for the position of PDP national secretary.

Following Anyanwu’s unsuccessful bid for governor of Imo State, when he lost to the incumbent, the current battle began.

Upon his return to the party, Okoye, who had been in charge while he was abroad, contested his eligibility to run for office in his state.

Last Monday, the court decided in favor of Okoye.

The PDP national working committee, which maintains that the party holds the Court of Appeal’s ruling in high regard, has recognized Okoye as the legally recognized National Secretary of the party.
