Kano Gov Yusuf remains suspended – NNPP insists

According to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Kano State Governor Abbah Yusuf is still suspended through December.

The Party’s National Secretary, Mr. Oginni Olaposi, made this announcement on Sunday in Abuja.

All party leaders and elders from throughout the nation are anticipated to participate, the statement said, adding that the party will be hosting a strategic stakeholders conference in Abuja later this month to address urgent internal issues affecting the party.

Sunday gave an explanation of the important issues that will be discussed and decisive actions taken to support the expulsion of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the political party’s 23-year-old presidential candidate, Elder Buba Galadima, and the entire national working committee, which is chaired by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji.

He went on to say that the NNPP leadership views the stakeholders conference as crucial to the party’s growth and the promotion of democracy ahead of the general elections in 2027.

“The personal commitment of all stakeholders and elders in terms of capacity and participation shall be of great advantage to the success of the meeting.

“All members, most especially those holding very sensitive positions of great responsibilities are compulsorily mandated to attend this coming meeting.

“All elected members on the platform of NNPP should equally understand the consequences of anti-party activities ahead of the 2027 general election if they boycott the meeting.

“And for the record, Kwankwaso, Galadima and the entire members of the Former National Working Committee led by Dr Ahmed Ajuji remain expelled from the NNPP.

“Also the Governor of Kano State, Abbah Yusuf remains suspended till December,” he stated.

According to the national secretary, the NNPP’s constitution is supreme for all members without prejudices to the grand norm of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It is our hope that INEC would take responsibility to respect the essence of internal democracy and inherent objectives for growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria,” he added.
