Kebbi 2027: I remain committed to Tinubu, Gov Idris – Aliero

Senator Muhammad Adamu Aliero has reaffirmed his steadfast support for the Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nasir Idris’s government, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and its leadership.

This is in response to recent statements attributed to a Tijani that purportedly implied the senator disapproved of some party figures.

In a statement released on Monday by his Birnin Kebbi media office, Aliero denied the allegations and reaffirmed his commitment to the APC.

“I stand firmly with the APC and our esteemed leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Nasir Idris, their visionary leadership and dedication to progress have uplifted Kebbi State and set a benchmark for governance in Nigeria” he said.

Together with Senator Yahaya Abdullahi of Kebbi North and Senator Garba Maidoki of Kebbi South, Senator Aliero was one of three current senators from Kebbi who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Many others believed that the high-profile defections, which led to political realignments throughout the state, were a calculated attempt to strengthen the APC’s hold on power and realign important players in advance of the 2027 elections.

Aliero urged members and supporters to stick together, pointing out that the leadership of the party has worked together to achieve the progress milestones seen in Kebbi.

“The progress we are seeing is due to the hard work and commitment of our leaders. I urge all stakeholders to remain focused and work together for the good of our state,” the senator added.
