Hon. Nasiru Muhammad Dan Umma, also known as Katukan Kabi, a Special Advisor to the Governor of Kebbi State, has resigned from his position and formally defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to information obtained by Daily Post, on July 7, 2025, Dan Umma, a former member of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, sent a letter to the APC Ward Chairman of Kokani South Ward in the Argungu Local Government Area expressing his resignation.

“I have withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress and joined the African Democratic Congress,” the letter stated in part.

The Hausa-language message clarified that the choice was made in good faith and prayed that it would be advantageous to all parties.

As parties start preparing for the national elections in 2027, Dan Umma’s departure coincides with a major political realignment in Kebbi State.
