“We gave scholarships to indigenous students who are doing well so that they can do better. This initiative was conceived obviously after he died, and the idea was to keep the memory alive and also to endeavour to replicate some of those leadership qualities he stood for – mentorship and people development, hard work, and positive mindedness,” said Mr Ukaeje Ukpabi, son of the late Ukpabi.

Other Scholarship Awards:

– N250,000 cash award: Best candidate in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) from Comprehensive Secondary School, Okoko Item.

– Tuition and exam fees: Best SS2 student of Truevine Schools and Academy Umuahia for the 2024/2025 academic session.

– N20,000 cash awards: Top five students of Okoko Item Comprehensive Secondary School.

The foundation’s inauguration featured a dialogue on “Leadership in Service, Innovation, and Culture” and a quiz competition with cash prizes for winners and participants. The late Ukpabi, a Mechanical Engineer, was known for his integrity and hard work, and his family aims to sustain his legacies through this initiative
