A community security organisation called Otampa Security Services in Akoba Otamkpa, Isiukwuato LGA of Abia State, has detained a man who goes by the name Ukazu on suspicion of snatching a woman’s cell phone.
Otampa Security Services issued a statement that was distributed to the media, stating that the suspect was paraded through the neighbourhood in public.
The announcement noted that Ukazu, who was unable to fulfil the N100,000 reparation sought by the community, has offered a sheep, a goat, a cell phone, and two plastic chairs as part of his penalty.
According to the statement, Ukazu has been given a month to pay the debt; if not, the pledged goods would ultimately be forfeited.
The stolen phone has since been found and given back to its original owner, proving the community security group’s prompt and efficient response.
