Marketsquare, a retail chain owned by Sundry Markets Limited, has organised a free medical outreach for over 3,000 residents of Abia State, as part of its corporate social responsibility initiative. The event, held at the General Hospital in Aba, provided beneficiaries with access to medical consultations, eye checks, drug prescriptions, and essential health screenings.
“Marketsquare recognises the critical challenges in healthcare access within Nigerian society. As a responsible entity, we view this medical outreach as our contribution to bridging the gaps in healthcare delivery across the nation.”
said Emmanuel Isangediok, Head of Marketing at Sundry Markets Limited.
The outreach, tagged “Marketsquare Cares”, was organised in collaboration with Pro-Health International and the Abia State Government. “In total, over 7,000 medical interventions were accomplished, including more than 100 general surgeries, 72 eye surgeries, over 2,000 laboratory investigations, and over 2,000 general consultations,” Isangediok revealed.
Abia State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Enoch Uche, commended Marketsquare’s management for their collaboration, saying, “I thank Marketsquare’s management for partnering with the state government on this exemplary initiative. I encourage other corporate organisations to embrace a similar spirit of giving back to society.
