After Hassan Nasrallah was murdered in an Israeli attack last month, Naim Kassem was named the new head of Lebanon’s Hezbollah armed force.

Kassem, Nasrallah’s long-time deputy, was formally appointed on Tuesday and took over as head following Nasrallah’s passing.

More than 43,000 Palestinians are said to have died since the conflict started on October 7, 2023, after an attack by Hamas militants killed about 1,200 people in Israel.

Additionally, local authorities claim that 90 percent of Gaza’s population has been displaced.
