Mohbad’s wife reveals another phase of how she meet her late husband

Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has shared the story of how she met the singer.

The mother of one revealed that they first connected 12 years ago on the social media app 2Go when they were both teenagers. She explained that their relationship started as a friendship before evolving into romance.

In a recent interview with TVC, Omowunmi recalled, “I met him when I was 13 on 2Go. That was 12 years ago. I used to be a rapper and he sang, too, so we started as friends. We were very young then. He was 15. He proposed relationship to me and I accepted. We later got married and had a child together.”

Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023. Just hours after his death, his father, Joseph Aloba, buried him in Ikorodu, Lagos State. However, his body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy amid ongoing controversies surrounding his death.

The results of the autopsy are still awaited, and Joseph Aloba, the singer’s father, has stated that Mohbad’s body will not be reburied until the autopsy results are received and a DNA test is carried out on his grandson, Liam, to confirm his true paternity.
